Updated Teen Girl’s Room

With just a few updates, we made my daughter’s girls room into something magical and so her.

Awhile back it became pretty clear that our teen daughter was in need of an overhaul to her room.  Her walls had been baby pink (she chose them!) for a long time.  Her furniture was pretty mish mash and there was no cohesion.  She gave me a few hints as to what she wanted and I gathered items to pull together a space that is perfect for her.

I wanted to highlight some of my daughters favorite things – quotes, New York, pandas, pillows, girly.. Since I redid her space, we’ve continued to add even more pillows.  Pretty soon she won’t even have a spot to sit because of all of the pillows.
I have wanted to share her space for awhile but now that we have our house for sale, I figured I better get it posted asap! I also have updates for my boys rooms that I need to get up here too.

I had fun putting together items for the wall.  I gathered things for awhile and hung them all up.  Here’s a list of where I found everything:

  • clipboards from the Dollar Spot at Target (they were $3/each)
  • Clock, Target
  • American Crafts prints, found at Home Goods but you can find something similar on Amazon
  • New York canvas, World Market – I also like this one

I found this little tray at Home Goods that went with the overall look of the room.  Julia doesn’t sit at a traditional desk to do homework.  She can usually be found on her bed or scrawled across the floor studying.  But I thought she needed a spot to put a few things and to have an extra light.  I found the thumbs up light box (yes it lights up!) on clearance at Target.  And the mug was from Marshall’s.

So where did all those pillows come from? We have gathered them over time.  Some came from Target, some from Ikea, some Hobby Lobby, some on Etsy.  They all fit her well!

And while the panda rug might not fit in with the feel of the rest of the room, she’s obsessed with pandas and I couldn’t resist when I found it on Rugs USA.
